John William Johnson, a local massage therapist and owner of AllAboutMassagers, showed me the Shoulder Flex Massager and all the ways I could use it. I am a massage therapist and I love deep massage. The Shoulder Flex massager could get into my muscles deeper and more consistantly than any massage therapist that I have been too. And deeper and more consistantly than I could do myself. I highly recommend this massager for anyone who has tense and/or hypercontracted shoulders and neck. I also recommend the Shoulder Flex massager for maintenance of flexible, healthy and vibrant muscles.

Compared to other kneading massagers I used before, the ShoulderFlex is the only one that lets me control both the width between its "fingers" and how deep its "fingers" push into the muscles. It really feels amazing once I find the sweet spot. I usually use the "medium" pressure setting for my upper back. The ShoulderFlex can be used on the neck, shoulders, upper and lower back, leg, or calf. It comes with a real pillow, which makes the whole experience that much more enjoyable. You need to watch the short instructional video as it contains valuable information on how to change the settings to suit your taste. For example, if I place a folded towel on the machine and adjust the pressure to the lowest setting as shown in the instructional video, the massage pressure is actually too light for my taste. On the other hand, I find the massage pressure to be quite strong if I use the "deep" pressure setting. So the range of adjustment is quite large. At this price point, you will be hard-pressed to find another kneading massager that is as good and versatile as the ShoulderFlex.

This massager was just too strong for me. I am not able to use it even with the posts at their most shallow position. They are adjustable but they do not move very far and they are kind of a pain to adjust. The machine seems to be pretty good quality, but it is too strong for me and also pretty bulky. I've since purchased a hand held percussion massager which is a lot more convenient to store and to use and I can control how much pressure I get from it. (for reference I'm 26yr F 120 lbs)

I used to see a massage therapist every week and I also own a high-end massage chair that costs me a small fortune. So I am rather picky when it comes to buying a massager for my neck and shoulders. I stumbled upon the ShoulderFlex at a friend's house who happened to be a massage therapist. After using it for a few minutes my initial skepticism went away. For a neck and shoulder massage, I must say that it does a better job than my massage chair which costs 30X more. That is something I would not have believed if I hadn't tried it myself. Needless to say, I went home and ordered one right away. I can understand why some people might find the kneading action to be on the strong side (I prefer deep-tissue massage). What I found was that the massage pressure was significantly reduced if I used it on my bed instead of on the floor. So try this massager on the bed if you just want a gentle massage. You can also adjust the "finger" pressure according to your need. The included memory foam pillow is very comfortable and it reminds me of a day spa.

I used to spend about $90 dollars per week on massages. This massager takes care of all my aches. It massages my neck and shoulders incredibly. Even my friends cannot remove themselves from this massage. It feels like a professional is doing the work. Please watch the video that is included. Again, watch the video for information on the features and how to use the massager. Make sure massager is away from children as it has little spacers and lots of sustaining power.
